- [Instructor] Let's turn a photograph into a brush that we can use for adding texture to an illustration. It's actually a very simple process. We're going to start with a photo I got online, I am going to go up to Image, Adjustments, and we'll Desaturate this image, so that we're working with a black and white image. Then we're going to go Image, Adjustments, Levels, and we're going to really clean this up, so that the background is white. I'm going to take my Levels slider, grab the white slider and drag it in, so the background is really white, and then I can grab the black slider and drag it in to bring up some of those darker elements. And I just want to find the sweet spot. We'll click OK. And now we can turn this into a brush, except that if we turn it into a brush the way it is it's not going to be super useful. Let me show you. If we go Edit, Define Brush Preset we're going to end up with a brush that has a rectangle with very hard edges. And I'm just making this smaller with…
