- [Instructor] What if you have a swatch of the lace you're going to use for the project, but you're not sure about the color yet and you need to incorporate it into your illustration to figure it out. We can make a brush from an actual swatch of trim. All you need to do is scan it into the computer. Since these were white, I scanned them on a black background but we're going to need to invert it because you must make brushes from black. So here's how we're going to start. We're going to go up to image, adjustments, and invert so that we have black on white. Then we're going to do image, adjustments, levels, and we're going to make sure that that white is really white by dragging the white slider in and then we can beef up the black a little bit by dragging in the black slider. We're going to go and use this one for now.
