- [Instructor] From a workflow perspective, addressing noise reduction is definitely something that you should do during the initial raw processing of the file. In terms of RAW versus JPEG, the software will be much more effective at reducing noise when you're working with a raw file. Let's take a look at the noise reduction tools that are available in Adobe Camera Raw, or in Lightroom. So, not all images with high ISO's are taken at night. Or even in particularly in low light conditions. Sometimes you may need to use a higher ISO because you need to use a faster shutter speed in order to stop fast motion in an interior location, such as with this photo taken at an Irish Dance competition. So if you look up at the top-right corner underneath the histogram, you can see what my exposure was. This was shot at 1/250th of a second at an ISO of 25,600. So a very high ISO setting.
