- [Instructor] I'm calling this movie, Capture Raw Convert to DNG. Because that's what I recommend you do. And so, a quick overview of the file formats that we first saw back in chapter one. As you know, you can open and edit a JPEG file in Camera Raw. The same goes for a TIFF file. So, if I right click on this thumbnail, I have an open in Camera Raw command. Camera Raw does not support layers, so you cannot open a PSD file. And, for whatever reason, if I right click on this PNG file, I'm not seeing an open in Camera Raw command. So, JPEGs and TIFFs. And then there's another group of file formats that Camera Raw was born to edit. And those are photographs captured to your camera's raw image file format. And so, notice this JPEG file right here. It's bit depth, reads eight. So, eight bits of data per channel, per pixel. You've got three channels, so eight times three, 24. Two to the 24th power, gives us 16.8…
