Capturing the differences between images

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you a really great use for the difference blend mode, which allows you to capture the differences between two layers inside Photoshop. The thing is, it's not a photographic technique. It's a design technique. So let's say that I'm going to be doing an advanced Illustrator session at Adobe MAX, and I want to be able to show off the gradient mesh feature, which allows you to create custom gradients like these right here. Now, the feature actually looks like this, with a bunch of colorful points inside your path outlines. The problem is, if I'm creating handouts for my audience, this isn't going to show up very well. What I want is to create a screenshot that is absolutely unambiguous, like this one here. And that means capturing all those gradient mesh points and turning them black against this faded background, which is why I set up this composition right here.
