Casting a shadow on the ground

- [Instructor] I want to create a drop shadow for this figure. But when I use the drop shadow layer effect, it's going to look like it's casting the shadow on the wall behind the subject. I'll select the shape layer and then choose effects and then drop shadow, reset the drop shadow to the default, and then increase the opacity to 80% and increase the size to 15. As I reposition it away from the illustration, we can see that it doesn't look like it's cast onto the ground but instead onto the paper or the wall behind it. So what I need to do is I need to separate the drop shadow from the layer. I'll apply the layer style and then choose layer, layer style, create layer. Photoshop will warn me that some aspects of effects cannot be reproduced with layers, but the drop shadow can be reduced just fine so I'll click okay.
