Cleaning your illustration

- [Instructor] The first step in rendering an illustration is to clean it up, and I've got a sketch here provided for me by Zoe Hong, who's got some great YouTube tutorials on fashion design, and I encourage you to check them out. This was scanned in at a resolution of, I think, 200, and it was scanned in in full color. And when you scan your work in, it should always be in full color and at the highest resolution you can, preferably 200 to 300. If you take a close look at it though, you can see that it's not really black and white, there's a lot of different little colors that make this up here, so the first thing we wanna do is get rid of them. We're gonna do that by going up to Image, Adjustments, and we're going to select Desaturate. This is gonna remove all the color variation from the image. It's gonna make it easier to work with. Let's zoom back out. The next thing we need to do is whiten it up, you'll notice that the background isn't really white, but a light gray. You can see…
