Clipping masks
- [Instructor] Another Photoshop mask that's really useful for fashion design is called a clipping mask. Let me show you how it works. I've got this illustration here of a heart and a stripe and they're the only thing on that layer. They're on their own layer. And above it I have some plaid and I want to glue this plaid fabric, let's think of it that way to the stripe in the heart. Well, it's really easy to do. We're just going to make a clipping mask. We'll turn on the plaid, right click on the plaid layer and select Create Clipping Mask and now the plaid sticks only to where there are pixels in this layer which in this case is the heart and the stripe. Let's do another one. I've got some text in this layer, wrote out the word Texture and let's go to the move tool. All right, so I've got the word Texture in this layer and in the layer above it, I've got this really cool rust texture that I thought was pretty beautiful.
