- [Instructor] What happens when you scan in your illustrations and the color just doesn't look right? Many of us find ourselves in situations where the scanner, printer, and monitors are not properly calibrated, and so when you scan in your image it just comes out either much too dark or much too light. Well, that's what happened here, and I'd like to show you how you can correct it. We're going to use an adjustment layer to do this, and to find that adjustment layer, it's on the bottom of the layers panel. We click on the black and white cookie, and we're going to select curves. Once you're in curves, you want to click on the center line, and if you drag it up it lightens everything, and if you drag it down it darkens everything. In this case, we need to lighten, so we're going to drag it up. You don't want to go too far because then it starts blowing things out, we just want to find a place where my clothing looks about right. Now in doing that, I also lightened everything else up,…
