Combining a layer mask with a vector mask

- [Speaker] In this movie, we'll mask the little boy's face on to that of the body builder by combining a pixel-based layer mask with our existing vector mask. Now just so I can better see what I'm doing, I'll go ahead and switch back to the layers panel, and I want you to notice something, I'm going to zoom in a little bit, and notice if I click on the layer mask thumbnail in order to select it, we'll also see the path outlines here in gray. Which means, for example, I can click on a path outline with a black arrow tool to select it, but as soon as I switch away from any one of the vector tools, which includes everything from the pen tool down to the shape tools, if I were to switch to something else such as the rectangle tool, which I can get by pressing the m-key, then those path outlines disappear, because after all they're not full-fledged visual members of the composition.
