Combining multiple layer effects

- [Narrator] In this movie, we'll combine multiple layer effects to firm up these edges right here so they have a little more definition and darken up the letters as well to produce what I consider to be this much improved final effect. Now the first thing we're going to do is assign a color overlay effect. So anytime you want to add an effect to a layer that already exists, you've got a few options available to you. One is to drop down to the FX icon and choose the desired effect. In our case, color overlay. I'll explain my reasoning there in just a moment. The other option is to double click on the words bevel and emboss, or you can just double click on the FX icon. Either trick is going to bring up the layer style dialog box, in which case you can just go ahead and click on color overlay to both select it and to turn it on as well. I'm going to go ahead and click reset to default once again so we can see what things look like by default. Basically these days color overlay just goes…
