Combining winter landscapes with wildlife in a photo

- You know, for years, I referred to myself as a landscape photographer. And I've gotten to the point where I don't think that's very accurate. And I don't necessarily like labels because I want to photograph whatever is interesting out there, and longer I do it, the more I open myself up to new opportunities. I think winter photography is an excellent chance to do that because winter is stark and sometimes you need a subject to throw in the landscape. If we are able to put an interesting animal or an interesting building or an interesting person, something that helps push the scene and gives us a clear subject, then we can elevate that image. So, I think spending time in winter and photographing has helped me to embrace other kinds of photography. So, am I a wildlife photographer? An architectural photographer? A landscape photographer? Everything, you know, the idea is don't limit yourself. Photograph anything that you think is interesting and challenge yourself to try different…
