- [Instructor] As you come to know and love textures and textures become a significant part of your image making practice, it helps to have a significant library of textures to fall back on. Textures tend to be surprisingly reasonable to acquire. Files that were professionally created and specifically intended to be used as texture overlays tend to have characteristics that make them particularly easy to work with when you're using textures in your image making practice. As I have explained, you can find texture and background files for free on the internet, use these with caution, or licensed individual texture files from stock agencies, or as I explained elsewhere in this course, make your own texture files. It really makes sense to license libraries of textures from vendors that specialize in this area. Whatever the source, please be sure to check the details of the licensing agreement that you are accepting. The important point is that you should be free to use the texture any way…
