Compositing like a pro

- If the best command for creating a selection is Color Range, than the best command for enhancing it is Select and Mask. Here's the idea, you lay down a base selection using Color Range, Focus Area, or any other combination of tools you like, then, it's likely it's not, your selection still needs work, which is when you choose Select and Mask and make some refinements. You can Smooth the selection, Feather it, expand or contract it and finally firm up the edges, and every adjustment preview's so that you can keep track of what you're doing as you work. Now if that was all you could do, this would be a decent feature but that's just the beginning. Select and Mask is a full blown workspace, complete with a small collection of selection tools, like Quick Selection and the Lasso. Better still, these tools interact on the fly with the feature's automatic Edge Detection. Dial in a radius value, and Photoshop traces a region that thick on both sides of the selection, by which I mean inside…
