- [Instructor 1] In this chapter, we'll be discussing composition, as it relates to underwater macro photography. And the idea is that you want to be able to share the stunning beauty of tiny ocean life. And you have to keep in mind that most people have never seen this stuff, so it's pretty remarkable. And we're going to start off with some compositional basics, including what might seem like the most obvious one, which is rule number one: avoid fish butts. And this is actually a little tougher than it might sound, because when you first start photographing fish, they have a habit of running away from you. - [Instructor 2] So a good way to avoid shooting fish butts is to think about talking to your subject. So over here, we've got a nudibranch, and we're basically shooting top down on that nudibranch. And although that may seem slightly appealing, we can definitely turn that into a better photo.
