- [Tony] Hi there and welcome to Design Tools Weekly with me, Tony Harmer. This week, we're going to take a look at graphics tablets and what to look out for if you're considering getting one for yourself. Tablets are input devices that connect to your computer and allow you to work with a stylus in a way that is much more natural than using a mouse, and although it's perfectly possible to use them as your only input device, most people do use them in conjunction with a mouse or a track pad. Tablets range from a digital slate that starts at less than $100 to pen displays that allow you to work directly to screen at the other end of the price range. It's no surprise that many artists, illustrators, retouchers, and other creatives use graphics tablets and displays, as aside from the drawing, painting, and retouching advantages that are, perhaps, obvious, there's an occupational health benefit to be had, too.
