Control the Wave filter

- In this movie I'm going to have some fun with the wave filter, creating a single vertical wave, or a single, horizontal wave. My starting point is a blank canvas. I'll add two layers above my background layer. And coming to the first of those, choosing my gradient tool, in my spectrum gradient, holding down my shift key, I will drag from left to right. Now come to the layer above, and do the equivalent but drag from top to bottom. So staying on layer two, which is going to be my vertical wave, I'll tap the M key to access my rectangular marquee tool, and draw myself a rectangle from top to bottom. Add this as a layer mask. Now come to the layer below, and do the equivalent, draw myself a rectangle from left to right, and add that as a layer mask. Now I will convert both layers to smart objects. I'll turn off the top one, and we'll work first on the horizontal wave. So now I'm going to come to the distort group, and to wave. For the type of wave, I'm going to choose sine, which is…
