Convert an Illustrator symbol to a Photoshop shape

- [Instructor] Illustrator has it's own library of vector symbols that you can access on the symbols panel. These are your symbols libraries. And Photoshop has its library of custom shapes which we can access here on the tool options bar. How, then, can we make an Illustrator symbol into a Photoshop shape, or vice versa? Well, I'm going to address the first of those questions in this movie. When you make something into a Photoshop shape it just needs to be a simple outline. You cannot have more than one color or different shades in the symbol. So things need to simplified and you'll get the best results if you start with a relatively simple symbol. My symbol is drawn from the Nature symbol set, and to place an instance on my art board I just selected it and dragged it. So that's where I am. I'm now going to select this and copy it, move to Photoshop, press command and control-N to create a new document, and it will create a document at the size of the clipboard, that's just fine, I'll…
