Converting to black and white

- Making your black and white photo in Photoshop is easy. There's an adjustment layer just for black and white photography. Let's start from the adjustments panel and choose the black and white adjustment. Now using the on image tool, we can click on different areas to affect that conversion. For example, the cyan slider here is useful to remove that ramp in the sky, so we don't see really as much of a ramped corner. Let's pull this out of the way here. I can do the same thing over here, which is controlling the blue slider, to adjust that, and later on, if needed, we can start to finesse things. Let's click on the surface here of the arch and you see how that's affected, or you can grab an individual slider, such as the yellows there, to bring out some of the details in the trees and balance out the conversion on the green. Using these individual sliders, you can find which areas are affected in the photo, such as the red here for the brick, and go after for a very targeted…
