Converting a selection to a layer mask

- [Instructor] All right now, if there's a problem with our composition, and there is, it's that we just got through pasting in Stanek pixels, which means if there's any problem around the edges of this model, there's not much we can do about it. And there are problems. Notice if I were to press and hold the Z key, in order to get the zoom tool, and then click a couple of times on this woman's elbow, it is in very bad shape. And so the better way to go is to convert your selection outline into a layer mask, which you can then refine to your heart's content. And so what I'm going to do is just go ahead and press control-zero or command-zero on a Mac in order to center my zoom, and then with the mom layer selected, here inside the layers panel, I'll just press the backspace key, or the delete key on the Mac, to get rid of it.
