Converting text to a shape layer

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you how to convert text to a shape layer, here inside Photoshop. But first, I thought we'd review a few reasons to do so, which is why I put together what's essentially a top five list. The top five reasons to convert text to a vector-based shape. The first one is out of consideration. And so, the idea is the person who opens your file doesn't get a Missing Font warning. And so, even though Missing Font warnings aren't really a problem in Photoshop, you don't want to raise any red flags. Second, would be security, so a person who opens your file can't edit the content of your text. Then, we've got better strokes, and the idea here is so you can apply a stroke with sharp mitered corners, regardless of how it's aligned, and we'll see what that means in just a moment. Then, we've got flexibility, so you can edit the shape of the letter using the White Arrow tool, as I did to create this M in the background. And then finally, repeatability, so you…
