Converting text to shape layers

- [Instructor] The easiest way to change the shape of a character is to convert the text layer to a shape layer. I'll tap T to select the type tool, and I have selected Futura for my typeface. I've set it to 120 points, center aligned, and selected white for the color. I'll click in the image area and then just type in mountain, and click the check mark in order to commit to that text. I'll swap to the move tool by tapping the v key and then just reposition this. Now once I convert the type layer to a shape, I can no longer edit the text, so I'm going to make a duplicate in the layers panel by using the keyboard shortcut command j. Then, I'll hide the type layer here and on the copy, I'll choose type and then convert to shape. Now that it's a shape, I can switch to the direct selection tool and click and drag over any of the anchor points and then reposition them. So I'll bring the M down, and then drag over the N here…
