Copy and paste Photoshop artwork into Illustrator

- [Instructor] One way to get your Photoshop imagery into Illustrator is to copy and paste and I'd like to look at the implications of that. So I have this image, I want to put it into an Illustrator document. Don't worry for now about for what reason, let's just say I need to get this into Illustrator. So I can press Command + A to select all. And then come and Copy. Now move to Illustrator and paste. Now when I paste, a few things happen. You'll notice that even though my Illustrator art board is the same size as my Photoshop canvas, the image does not fill my whole art board. And that's because it's resolution is set to 240 pixels per inch. If I were to scale this up, you can see that it fits exactly, but the resolution is now at a screen resolution of 72 pixels per inch. But more important than that, what has happened is that by copying and pasting, I have not created a link to this image. I have made an embedded copy of the image in Illustrator.
