Create an abstract texture

- [Instructor] You can have a lot of fun painting with texture brushes to create abstract illustrations. And in this example, I began with a photograph of a piece of tape on a piece of black plastic. And this is going to serve as my brush. First of all, I need to increase the contrast in the image so that we can extract the best brush possible. To do this, I'm going to convert my layer to a smart object and then come to my camera roll filter. Here, I'm going to massively increase the contrast. Decrease the blacks, increase the whites. And increase the clarity. Now I want to make the black areas of the image fall away. I'll double-click to the right of the layer name and come to my blend if sliders. Grabbing the black triangle, I'm going to move this toward the center to about level 90. So everything that is level 90 or darker will just fall away. For a more subtle transition, I'm going to hold down the Option or Alt key and divide that triangle in two, dragging the left portion back…
