Create a hand-painted look using the Photocopy filter

- In this movie, I'm going to show you how we can create a stylized portrait from a photograph using the photocopy filter, combined with the cutout filter, and some additional techniques. Here's my starting image, and the first thing I want to do is convert my background layer to a small object. Next, I want to apply the photocopy filter. Before you do this, check your foreground and background colors, because the photocopy filter will use these, and in my case, I want them to be black and white. If necessary, press D to restore them to those values. I can change these values if I want to add or remove detail, but actually these are pretty much the settings that I want, but I want to simplify the result, and I'm going to do that by adding in the cutout filter into this combination. Rather than run the filters individually, I'm going to combine them here in the filter gallery. I'll come and click on new effect layer, and you can see that I now have two filters applied.
