Create a photo backdrop
- [Instructor] Here I'm going to show you how to create an abstract photographic backdrop. In my finished version, I have two layer groups. The first is the portrait itself, and the second contains these different filters that combine to create the backdrop. Let's move to the starting state where I currently have, just as solid color fill layer. So I'm going to create a new layer above that. And then, I'm going to convert that to a smart object. Firstly, I will apply a layer of fibers. So from the filter menu, choose render, fibers. Now in this case, so that my fibers are not so streaky as they are here, I want to take the variance and the strength all the way down. Going to go with a variance of six. And a strength of one. Next, I'll change the blending mode, from normal, to soft light. And I'll reduce the opacity to about 30 percent. Now, to disrupt the vertical pattern of those fibers, I'm then going to come and apply a Gaussian blur of six pixels. Above this, I'll add another new…
