Create a typographic treatment in Illustrator and apply texture in Photoshop

- [Instructor] I'd like to look at two different approaches to adding texture to your artwork, by combining Illustrator with Photoshop. So, here in Illustrator, I have created this typographic composition. I'm abutting the type, and making the leading negative, so that each line sits on top of the other. And then, I have used Live Paint, to make it into a Live Paint group, so that it can fill in with solid color each area of negative space. Now, I want to take this, and add some texture to it. I'm going to switch to Photoshop, where I have this texture file. If we are going to host the final composition in Photoshop, then the resolution of this image is important. So, I'm going to come to the image menu, and image size, and just point out that this is large enough to be reproduced at tabloid size, and that is my intent for this document. I'm now going to come to the file menu, and choose Place Linked, where I will place my Illustrator artwork. It lands at the center of the canvas. I'm…
