Creating a custom brush
- [Instructor] In this next technique, we're going to create a custom brush, and then we're going to use it to paint in a mask. We can select any one of these paint strokes, I'll tap the M key in order to select the Marquee Tool and drag out a marquee around one of the strokes. When we define a new brush, if we have color in the selection, it will be converted to a shade of gray. And it is helpful to have the paint stroke against white or against transparency. In this case, I have this kind of gray background, so it's going to be helpful if I choose image, and then adjustments and levels, and I push those gray values all the way to pure white. I'll also add a little contrast to the brush by moving over the black slider, and then applying that. It's also best if you define your brush at the largest size that you think you're going to need it. If you define a really small brush, and then later you decide you want it larger…
