Creating a double exposure effect

- [Instructor] In the next few minutes, we're going to show some different ways to isolate the visibility of one layer with another. Now this technique emulates what can traditionally be done in Camera when you're making a double-exposure but we're going to take it one step further by duplicating some layers and using clipping groups to hide and show specific areas in the image. So if I just wanted to double-expose the bird with the mountain, I could target the bird layer and then choose a blend mode such as Multiply or Screen, or maybe Overlay or Soft Light. And while that does create kind of a cool, unique look, we're going to take advantage of the power that Photoshop has to give us a little bit more control. So ultimately, I'll want a duplicate of both of these layers so I'm going to hold down the Command key to select both of them and then use Command + J in order to duplicate them.
