Creating an infrared/snow effect

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you how to create a black and white infrared slash snow effect. And the idea is it's going to look like infrared inside this photograph and it's going to look like snow on these elephants. But here's the thing, while it's a nifty trick, it works best on images that are predominantly green, such as landscapes. It doesn't work as well on portrait shots. Now just as with the image from the previous movies, these come to us from the Fotolia Image Library. And so what I'm going to do here is bring up the Adjustments Panel by clicking on the Adjustments icon in this icon column. And then I'll alt-click or option-click on the Channel Mixer icon, which again is the second to last icon in the second row. And I'll go ahead and call this guy infrared then click okay. And it's a pretty simple trick. You turn on the Monochrome checkbox and then you crank the green value up to it's maximum which is 200 percent and you compensate by taking it out of the red…
