- [Narrator] In this movie I'll show you how to create and use arbitrary maps. Which are a variation on gradient maps that you'll apply using a curves adjustment layer. And they allow you to create psychedelic effects like this one right here, if that type of thing appeals to you. Alright so I'll go ahead and switch over to my image thus far and I'll turn off the infusion layer right there. And then I'll go up to the Layer menu Choose New Adjustment layer and choose Curves. or if you created those custom keyboard shortcuts at the end of chapter 25, Then you can press Ctrl+Shift+M here on the PC or Command+Shift+M on the Mac. M being the letter after L for levels. Alright so I'll go ahead and choose that command to bring up the New Layer dialog box. And I'll call this guy arb map because That's what they're called in the biz, and click okay. And if your panel isn't a big already make it nice and big. And then notice what happens if I click to set a bunch of points in the graph here…
