Creating a tilt shift effect

- [Instructor] Photoshop has a great way to add the tilt shift effect in post. With this image selected, I'll choose filter, and then convert for smart filters. That's going to convert it into a smart object so that when I choose filter, and then blur gallery, and tilt shift, it will be applied as a non-destructive smart filter. Now Photoshop automatically adds a pin in the center of the image, you can click on that in order to reposition the blur. There's also a dial where you can dial in the amount of blur you want, or you can use the blur slider over in the blur tools panel. I'll add quite a heavy blur here just to make sure that we can see what's happening. So between these two solid lines, there actually no blur being applied, and then between the solid line and the dashed line, that is going to be the fade range where the blur slowly starts being added.
