Creating a transparent watermark

It's easy to create a transparent watermark in Photoshop using layer effects. Now I can apply this effect to any type of layer, but in this instance we're going to use a type layer. I'll tap the "T" key to select the type tool and then un-mark control click, or right click and reset the tool. I'll leave the font set to Marriott pro regular but I'm going to increase the type size to 50, and then tap, Enter to apply that. I'll center align this, and then we can fill it with any color because we're actually going to knock out that fill in just a moment. I'll click in the image area. I'll use option "G" on Mac in order to access the copyright symbol. On Windows, that would be an Alt+ Zero+ One+ Six+ Nine or you can always use the glyphs panel to insert the copyright symbol. Then I'll just type in my name but you can type in whatever you want your watermark to be. I'll apply that by using Command+ Return on Mac or…
