Custom Brightness/Contrast
- Now I'll show you how to apply the most basic custom luminance adjustment there is, brightness contrast. First is a static pixel level modification in this movie, and then as a dynamic adjustment layer in the next. And so what we have here is a tale of two puffins. One image lacks brightness and contrast. The other one has too much. Now I want you to notice that these are both JPEG files, meaning that they're flat images. So all we have is a flat background here inside the Layers panel. So far, we don't have any layers. And so let's say I just want to go for it and modify the actual luminance levels of the pixels inside this image. Then I would go up to the image menu, choose adjustments and then choose brightness contrast, which is going to bring up that same dialog box that we saw in the previous movie, at which point you can start things off by clicking the auto button or you could just set in dragging the slider…
