Expanding with Grow and Similar
- With a variety of different selection tools, you may find that initially you don't get a selection that includes all the areas that you wanted to and so you need to essentially grow that selection. You can often for example use the add the selection option for many of the selection tools and build up your selection in a series of steps. But there are also a couple of commands that you might find helpful from time to time when you need to essentially expand the area of your selection. Those are the grow and similar commands on the select menu. Let's take a look at an example of how you might put those to use. I'm going to use as our example the magic wand tool and I'm gonna make sure that the contiguous check box is turned on even though in this case, I actually need to create a selection that is not only contiguous areas but all areas of the photo, all of the sky in this case.
