Expanding a selection with Select > Similar

- [Narrator] Alright, now at this point, we need to expand our selection to include all of the green background, including these very narrow regions between the broom handles. The best way to pull that off is to choose one of two very old school commands under the Select menu, which are Grow and Similar. Both of which expand the selection according to the tolerance value that you've specified for the Magic Wand tool. Grow goes ahead and selects adjacent pixels, so pixels that are adjacent to the existing selection outline, whereas Similar will jump the gaps, which of course is what we want in order to select the areas between the broom handles. Let me show you what's going on here. I'll go ahead and switch from the Quick Selection Tool to the Magic Wand Tool, and by the way, you can switch between these two tools at any time by pressing Shift + W.
