Filling in the holes: Clone Stamp

In our previous example you saw how we could accurately select elements and move them to their own layer. The challenge though, when you make that move, is you leave a hole behind and that hole's going to look quite strange in your photograph, particularly as you start to animate the camera. So, there are several techniques you can apply to fill in the missing information. Let me show you a few of those. First up is cloning. In this case, I've got a shot of some artwork here from Canada. In this case, some traditional poles made by people from the Pacific Northwest. And what I want to do is remove them from the background. So, in this case, let's take a look at the object. I see that we've extracted things to their own layer. There it is. Well, if I were to load that layer here and we take a look at the background, well, it's going to leave a hole.
