Filling in holes with Content-Aware Fill and Cloning
- Now that the image is corrected, we have a few areas where there's gaps. Fortunately, Photoshop offers a couple of great tools. We're going to start by using some content aware fill, and then a little bit of cloning, or the healing brush, to fill in other areas that need manual touch up. Now my suggestion is to duplicate this layer and then merge the layer or flatten it. Once I've got this second copy here, it's going to be pretty simple. We just want to permanently apply the adaptive wide angle filter. You can't use the content aware fill on a smart object, so we'll need to take this copy and make it a normal layer. So with a right click, I'm just going to choose here to rasterize the layer, and the pixels are more permanently applied. Now down below, we have the smart object if we ever need to come back to it, so I'll turn that off for now. With a command or a control click, we can load the layer, and now I'm going to choose select, inverse. You see it chooses the empty pixels…
