Focus light

- [Instructor] So in this movie, we're going to touch on Focus Lights. Now these are those continuous LED torches that we're going to mount on our camera system. And what these are going to do is they're going to give our camera what it needs to help get that critical focus. - [Instructor] And yes, we're sorry, this is yet another optional-sounding item that you actually have to buy. And here's why you need that focus light... - [Instructor] First of all, your camera requires contrast to focus. And when I say focus, I mean autofocus. Now in this case, we have a high contrast scene, and it's possible that the camera could autofocus without that additional light. But you'd be surprised how many times you're shooting something like that Zanzibar Whip Tail Coral Shrimp, where you've got a white thing against a white background, or some brown fish against a brown background. In which case, you need that additional light. And that's going to help the autofocus, but it's also going to help…
