- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll take a look at these four global refinements settings which allow you to modify the edges of your selection on the fly. Now notice each one of these sections twirls closed and then back open so in all you have three groups of options. Edge detection which we'll see in the next movie, global refinements and output settings. I'm going to go ahead and twirl open global refinements and as you can see I'm zoomed in on that selection I created in a previous movie. Now it's pretty rough where this shoulder detail's concerned but I can smooth it out if I like by increasing the smooth value. But notice if I take it too high, all the way up to 100 percent that I'm going to end up with a very rounded edge. I also want you to notice how you get a kind of preview on the fly but it doesn't really settle down until you release the slider. I'm going to go ahead and take the value all the way down to zero so we can demonstrate these remaining three options which…
