- [Instructor] In this course, you'll hear me talk about global and local adjustments. Global adjustments in Lightroom or Photoshop affect the entire image, for example decreasing exposure. But you can also adjust small areas. This is called local adjustments. In the Lightroom Develop module, tools like the adjustment brush target specific areas, like the side of his face. In Photoshop, you can use brushes or adjustment layers with masks for local adjustments. This versatile program was a game changer when it first came out. Not only is it a great way to archive and catalog images, it also provides powerful tools to adjust them. This isn't a course on Lightroom workflow, but I'll quickly share mine. As a news and event photographer, I often have hundreds, even thousands, of images to edit from an assignment. I download all the images into Lightroom and I keyword on import.
