How can I prepare an image for social media?
- Sizing images for social media is something that Photoshop is excellent at. This allows you to crop to specific ratios as well as size to the exact target that you need. My suggestion is press C for crop, and if you take a look at the ratio here you'll see a lot of different ratios that are commonly used. You can click here on this pop-up list and choose from different aspect ratios. For example, a one by one square that's used on a lot of platforms like Instagram, so I can choose the specific part of the photo that I want. When you do this, uncheck the option for Delete Cropped Pixels so that then you can go ahead to another crop by just choosing Image, Reveal All, and the cropped pixels are restored. But what sizes do you need? Well it really depends upon each platform. I always suggest that you look at each platform though, because from time to time they do tend to change.
