- When photographing people under bright light or conditions where they may develop sweat, you may see some shine on the skin. This can be minimized by making a targeted selection. Let's start by selecting the face. I'll do this with the Object Selection Tool and just click and drag around her face. It makes an initial selection for me. Now what we can do is choose Select and Mask. My suggestion is use Smart Radius and bump this up a little bit so it does a better job of handling the smooth transitions at the edges. Now we've got a general selection. Let's take this and add a gentle adjustment. We'll do this by clicking on Curves. Now what we could do with this curve is make a small change in the highlight region. You'll notice here as we make this pull, it starts to minimize some of that transition area.
