How do I make colors ready to print?
- The colors that your camera can capture, as well as the colors that your monitor can represent are not the same as what can be printed, in most cases. There are certain colors that are out of gamut that when you try to print them, will not look correctly. Pre-processing these in Photoshop will give you a better print with not a loss of detail. Now, you are going to see a shift because you're modifying these areas, but it's generally better for you to control this and dial it in, than to have the hardware device, like the printer, clip the color, which could lead to posterization or flattening. Looking at this image here, there's a lot of color and detail, and it's very vivid. I see some areas, though, that are really saturated and might not translate to print. To check this, I can go under the View menu and we'll select the Gamut Warning here. And I see gray pixels indicating areas that are problematic. And what it…
