Image selection guidelines
Let's address some of the criteria when it comes to selecting images. There are a few things to consider, both technical and aesthetic when you choose a photo for this technique. Now, I'm going to switch to Adobe Bridge. Adobe Bridge is a companion application that ships with Photoshop and After Effects. You can access it from either application by choosing File, Browse in Bridge. In this case, we have two images here. And we'll talk about the resolution and other settings here in just a moment. What we're looking for is what's happening in the image. If I press the Spacebar, it quickly opens the image full screen. In this case, you'll notice we have a lot of interesting depth. I see that we have a large group, a backdrop here, which is interestingly at an angle. A foreground plane with the grass. And clouds and such behind them. This looks really quite good.
