- Once upon a time, we worried that some nameless, faceless corporations would one day take over the internet. You know, the way they took over radio and television and movies and video games. Why that hasn't happened is anyone's guess. Okay, so Facebook is pretty huge and it doesn't let you post animated GIF files, but otherwise, the internet is just as much Wild West as it ever was. Which is good news, right? You can create awesome images, you can post them to any and every site you like, and you can wait as the maddening hordes post their likes and their hates and their comments. Which is tough, but it's actually better than the Wild West. Those Wild West dudes used to get shot full of holes and tied up and dragged through cactus. You and me, we post an image to the web and the worst thing that gets hurt is our feelings. But even the Wild West has its rules and best practices.
