Implying a surface with texture

- [Voiceover] Often times, a major component of a mediums hallmark look is the appearance of texture. Think of media like chalk, oil pastel, and painting on canvas. This appearance is created by the interaction of applied pressure, deposited color, and the texture of the underlying substrate. Without texture, media like chalk or oil painting, will appear to have been painted on a smooth featureless surface. There are times when smooth brush work is desirable, and other times, when you want this additional quality as part of your mark making tools personality. In this movie, we will look at enabling texture, so that it becomes part of a brushes expressive character. This is gonna be a bumpy ride, so fasten your seat belts. Probably the best example of one of the brushes we've created to add texture to, is our erodible chisel tip, and let's just review what this does right now.
