- [Instructor] One of the lesser known features when using the crop tool is it's ability to add additional canvas area around your image. So before we start, I'll tap the C key, but then I'm going to right click and reset the tool. Then I'm going to tap the escape key, because I want to click and drag in the image area in order to drag out the crop. Now, if we'd started by just grabbing the crop handles, we could crop beyond the image area. But when you click and drag within the image area, by default you're actually constrained to only crop within the image. So, all we need to do is release the cursor, and now we can go ahead and crop outside of the image in order to add some canvas size. However, if we look at the layers panel, we were starting with a background layer. So if I were to click the check to apply the crop right now, it would actually fill that area with the background color. So it's actually filled with white.…
