Introducing the Histogram
- [Narrator] All right. Now I'm going to introduce you to the histogram, which is a column graph of luminance levels inside your image from black on the left to white on the right. And while it may seem technical at first, I think you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. And the great thing about it is it gives you another view into your image. So in addition to the view of the image that you're seeing on your computer screen, we also have the histogram which provides a little bit of additional subjective data. And to get to the histogram panel, you go up to the window menu and choose the histogram command, which is going to bring up this tiny version of the panel right here. Now if you set up your workspace the way I recommended back in chapter two, then the histogram panel is sandwiched between the color and layers panel. At first it can be a little bit confusing with all these colors and it's awfully darn…
