Introducing the Select and Mask command

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll introduce you to the Select and Mask command, which allows you to select an image and then turn around and refine that selection. And we're going to use the command to mask this model against this starry background in order to create this final effect here. Alright, I'll go ahead and turn the model layer back on and make sure it's selected, and then I'll go up the Select menu and choose Select and Mask, and I want you to notice that it has a keyboard shortcut of Control+Alt+R, that's Command+Option+R on a Mac, and the reason I mention it is this command takes the place of Refine Edge, so if you were used to using the Refine Edge command in the past, it has now changed to Select and Mask. And notice as soon as I choose the command I enter a new workspace, with different tools over here on the left-hand side of the screen and a single, enormous properties panel over on the right side.
